Certified Public Accountant,
Certified Fraud Examiner,
Certified Internal Auditor
Candidate for Treasurer
We moved to Norwood in July of 2007 when my husband was offered a full-time position at Immaculate Conception Academy and Church after commuting from Indiana for four years. Since then we have participated in/enjoyed many wonderful activities such as bowling, Norwood Knothole, Norwood Little Indians Football, Norwood Soccer, Norwood Day Parade, Norwood Day at Coney Island to name a few. Yet our ties go back even further. My husband and I had our first date at the Norwood Joseph-Beth Bookstore and we were married in Norwood in 2002. This past June I was honored to became a Board Member of the Norwood Service League and am serving on the Finance Committee.
Experience profile is Public Accounting covering Big 4 and smaller firms, with work projects ranging from corporate audits and tax returns to individual and small company accounting services. In addition, I have operated as a sole proprietor with an emphasis on providing accounting services, including fraud prevention/detection. I have been a Certified Public Accountant since 2003 in New Jersey and received a reciprocal OH license in 2007. In 2010, I became a Certified Fraud Examiner.
In the fall of 2009, the Ohio Society of CPAs gave a report to then Governor Ted Strickland regarding recommendations on fixing the projected 8 billion budget deficit. Last summer I volunteered with the Ohio Society of CPAs on the Ohio Budget Reform Speaker's Bureau to learn and tell others about that report and other similar reports. Because of that work, I realized that I needed to become more involved with the City of Norwood. I began attending Council meetings, talking with people, and researching to learn more about Norwood's financial situation.
While Norwood's financial problems are a primary concern, I am also interested in the continued improvement/development of other services provided by the City, especially with having to raise a family here. Please contact me through email, facebook, phone, or letter mail. I would very much like to hear about what's most on the minds of other Norwoodians and ways to help Norwood become even better.
